SUBFLOOR

When deciding to purchase a new floor it is important you know what is beneath your current floor. It will either be a wooden sub floor or a concrete floor. If you do not know the answer its ok, our team can help you figure this out. Traditionally in a house, subfloors downstairs are generally concrete, and rooms upstairs tend to have wooden sub floors. UNDERLAY

It is important for most floors to have a layer on which your new floor sits. Depending on what you choose whether it is laminate, solid wood, carpet certain SPC's underlay is important to give your new floor more stability and protect you from any moisture coming through. Various underlays serve different purposes for example, a soundproof underlay will help those who live in a flat or apartment or if you are of noise pollution in your home. Another type of underlay can be an insulating underlay this is especially useful if you would like to combat cold and reduce your heating bills. Insulated underlay can facilitate noise reduction and making the under-foot experience more pleasant. DAMP PROOF MEMBRANE

Even though most underlays contain certain damp proofing properties, an actual damp proof membrane will guarantee high level of protection against moisture, which can pass from the sub floor to the wooden flooring.
